SATURDAY, MAY 26: Regular Tour Season Resumes: Guided tours of the mansion and grounds share the story of the Pinchot family and role Grey Towers played as they advanced their social, political, and conservation ideals. On the hour, 11 am to 4 pm. Special, three floor tours on WEEKENDS ONLY at 10am and 4pm ONLY SATURDAY, MAY 26 at 7 pm: "Mimicry and Camouflage: Deception by Design" Program and Discussion. Gifford Pinchot Audubon Society presents George Nixon, retired teacher, avid birder, past member of NJ Birds Records Committee and member of several nature clubs as he shows the various adaptations of wildlife and how they hunt efficiently (and keep from being eaten!). Mother’s Day Garden Tour and Art Show benefitting Baltimore Woods Nature Center

Herald the Arrival of Spring!!! On Mother's Day, the private gardens at Sycamore Hill Gardens in Marcellus, will again be open to the public. This annual event features over 30 acres of themed gardens with 500,000 flowering bulbs, 700 varieties of trees, thousands of perennials, an evergreen maze, a folly, and ponds filled with colorful Japanese Koi fish waiting to be fed. Sculpture and statuary are strategically placed throughout the gardens, and include a bell garden, where children young and old ring bells and sound gongs. This annual event draws a crowd upwards of 3,000 visitors every year from across the region.
Photography, outdoor painting and drawing are all encouraged. Visitors bring picnics, spread out blankets, and linger all day in this lovely setting. Byrne Dairy generously provides free beverages at the garden tour. Plank Road Magazine is also a sponsor of the event.
The popular Art Exhibit "Art in Bloom" is held in the large greenhouse and has grown in size every year. In 2012over 15 area artists are participating, sharing and selling their work in a gallery setting. Works in all media, all sizes and price ranges wait to become special pieces to treasure as well as gifts for summer weddings and other special occasions.
New in 2012 is an advance preview special art reception for Baltimore Woods Nature Center's ticketed members only. This reception is on Saturday, May 12, 4-6pm. Artists will be on hand to discuss their work. Refreshments will be provided by Stephen Landon, farm to table chef, Skaneateles, assisted by Patty Weisse, locavore foodie and executive director of Baltimore Woods Nature Center.

Tickets are .50 on-line at www.baltimorewoods.org or by credit card at (315) 673-1350, and at area locations through May 4th. On-line ticket sales end May 4th.
After May 4th, tickets are at all sale locations and at the gate. Children under 8 receive free admission.
Byrne Dairy will sponsor the event generously donating free beverages. Plank Road magazine is also a sponsor and will have an information table at the event.

In Syracuse tickets are available at the Lemon Grass Restaurant in downtown's Historic Armory Square and Metro Home Style Gift Shop near the Spaghetti Warehouse in Franklin Square area just north of downtown.
